2019 SWAAG Student Travel Scholarships
SWAAG is pleased to announce a program to support student attendance and participation at the annual meeting. We will offer up to ten (10) travel scholarships for students in need to attend the 2019 SWAAG annual meeting, valued at up to $300 each. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be enrolled as a student in a school located in the Southwest AAG Region (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) at the time of the conference. We will favor applicants that demonstrate financial need and could not otherwise attend the conference. Students are eligible to receive one SWAAG sponsored student travel scholarship. Interested students must submit all application materials as a single document (either Word or PDF).

Within three weeks following the conference, scholarship recipients are required to submit a short (one to two paragraphs) summary of their experiences at the meeting. This information is important for obtaining award sponsorship for future years.
DEADLINE: All SWAAG sponsored student travel award applications are due to the SWAAG Chair, Dr. Matt Fry, with the subject "Application Student Travel Scholarship" by 23 September 2019. Awardees will be notified by 1 October 2019.

- A cover letter (ONE page) containing:
- a short description of the student's research and relevance to geography;
- a brief summary of the student's professional goals; and
- a brief statement about how this award will benefit the student's studies.
- A copy of the student's abstract that was submitted to the meeting.
- A short (ONE page) Curriculum Vitae.
