Call For Papers / PresentationsThe Department of Geosciences at the University of Arkansas would like to welcome everyone to attend SWAAG2022, to be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the Fayetteville Public Library 27-29 October 2022.
There will be a welcome reception Wednesday night at Foghorn's #2 (1545 W. 15th Street, Suite 1, Fayetteville, AR 72701), right next to the Staybridge Suites. Paper sessions will be Thursday and Friday, with the Geography Bowl to be held Thursday night. Our keynote speaker on Thursday will be Dr. Rebecca Lave, AAG Vice President and Professor of Geography at Indiana University Bloomington. The Friday keynote will be Dr. Angie Maxwell, Professor of Political Science, Diane D. Blair Endowed Chair in Southern Studies, and Director of the Diane D. Blair Center of Southern Politics and Society at the University of Arkansas.
On Saturday, October 29th there will be a pair of field trips in Northwest Arkansas. One will be to Devil’s Den State Park in the Boston Mountains of the southwestern Ozarks. The other will be to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. Transportation for both excursions will be available from the Fayetteville Public Library (as sponsored by the Department of Geosciences) or you may travel on your own if you prefer.

Registration and abstract submission:
Conference registration is now available here (you may need to create an AAG profile). Abstracts will be submitted separately also via the AAG at this website. Abstract submission is only available to those who have registered for the conference. Please note that registration and abstract submission will close October 15.
The meeting registration fees will be at the following rates:
In-Person
1. Undergraduate/Graduate Student
Early registration (through 15 September 2022) - $40
Normal registration (through 1 October 2022) - $50
Late registration (through 15 October 2022) - $80
2. Faculty or Professional
Early registration (through 15 September 2022) - $125
Normal registration (through 1 October 2022) - $150
Late registration (through 15 October 2022) - $200
Virtual (includes access to and participation in a virtual paper/poster session, business meeting, and streaming access to conference keynotes)
The conference will be held at the newly remodeled Fayetteville Public Library. This venue includes an event center for keynote lectures and meals and smaller rooms for conference presentations. Included in the registration costs are lunch on Thursday and dinner on Friday. Parking is free.
Hotels
We have reserved a room block at the Staybridge Suites – Fayetteville. The rate is $129 per night for a studio with queen bed and sleeper sofa. The room block rate is valid for three nights, 26-28 October (Wednesday to Friday). Rooms should be reserved using this link. The last day to book is 23 September 2022.
